Where Philosophy of Life meets Philosophy of Arts - JeanRichard
JeanRichard partners with artist Gully and reveals the "Graphiscope" collection.

The Swiss luxury watch manufacturer JeanRichard will be partnering with Gully, known for his contemporary street art, for a special collaboration. The exhibition on the theme of “Philosophy of Art” will start on 19 September 2014 at Opera Gallery in Paris, France. It will feature amongst Gully’s latest paintings also a special exhibit on the collaboration with JeanRichard that is part of the renowned Kering Group. On this occasion, a “Graphiscope” special collection, composed of three limited series of JeanRichard Terrascope timepieces, inspired and signed by the artist, will be unveiled.

Gully, a French art lover and graffiti artist, creates contemporary art that has a special twist.Considered as a tribute, Gully makes the icons like Canaletto, Hopper, Warhol, Basquiat, Koons, Rockwell and Os Gemeos, meet in his paintings and creates a dazzling blend and synergy of various styles in his pieces of art. He is a mysterious artist, never appearing at the openings since he remains anonymous.

“Just like Daniel Jeanrichard, pioneer and artist of his time in the 17th century, Gully is also a very inventive and curious adventurer within his field of expertise. And the story behind the Graphiscope collection is the result of exactly such inspiration”, said Bruno Grande, Managing Director of JeanRichard. “Gully has been a Friend of the Brand for a while and when he was working on painting a new canvas, he splashed his Terrascope with several colors - and this is how an additional piece of art emerged and the idea for the new ‘Graphiscope’ limited edition series was born.”

The JeanRichard “Graphiscope” collection will be three limited editions of 25 pieces each of a variation of the JeanRichard Terrascope watch that are signed by Gully. They will be revealed at Opera Gallery in Paris on 19 September 2014 and the exhibition will last until 11 October 2014.

“For my creations, I normally pay tribute to the emblems of the Art Scene – especially the ones I consider to be my mentors, and I make them meet each other in my pieces of art”, said Gully. “For JeanRichard, time is a Philosophy of Life and I make my art, my Philosophy of Life. Thus, together we created an encounter, a true blend of street art and time. We united the art of watchmaking with urban street art, two universes very different from one another yet at the same time very special and out of the ordinary.”
