Alpine Skiing World Cup - Longines Conquest 1/100th St. Moritz
To coincide with the final leg of the Alpine Skiing World Cup from 16 to 20 March, Longines presents a chronograph celebrating its partnership with St. Moritz.

With just a few days to go before the final of the Alpine Skiing World Cup in Switzerland, Longines is celebrating its partnership with the famous ski resort in the Grisons region of Switzerland by displaying its new chronograph, the Conquest 1/100th St. Moritz, alongside the trophy of the FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup, in the Bucherer boutique in the centre of the town. The ski resort has hosted a number of FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup events, as well as the FIS Alpine Skiing World Championships, which have all featured Longines as timekeeper.

Longines and skiing
Longines has been timing sports performances since 1878. It launched the Conquest 1/100th chronograph to cater for athletes, professionals and sports fans who require a high degree of precision. Unveiled last December, the timepiece is now on display in the Bucherer shop as a reminder of its role as Official Watch of the town of St. Moritz, and Official Timekeeper of the FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup. The new, minimalist and streamlined L440 quartz movement contains a microcontroller with flash memory for recording split times and instant resetting. The 42 mm diameter case encloses the usual hours and minutes functions, a small seconds subdial at 6 o’clock and a date, along with the chronograph functions, which comprise central second hand, 30-minute counter at 2 o’clock and 12-hour counter at 10 o’clock.

Downhill and Super-G
Those readers who follow us on social media will be aware that none of the World Cup stages taking place between now and the finals will be held in the charming resort of Praz sur Arly in Haute Savoie. The penultimate stage will take place in Lenzerheide, Switzerland, for the women’s Super-G, and in Kvitfjell in Norway for the men’s downhill.
