The Russian Eagle - Louis Moinet
1 minute read
The Russian Eagle is an undertaking that reflects the brand’s commitment to cultural and artistic projects.

A past master in the art of sculpting symbols on exceptional timepieces, Louis Moinet skips merrily from the derrick to the Russian Eagle, once again topping a tourbillon. This new 28-piece limited edition depicts the two-headed eagle of Byzantine origin, holding in its talons the scepter of the Orthodox church and the shield of Saint George, the patron saint of Slavic peoples.

The legendary bird alone calls for more than 50 hours of hand engraving, further enhanced by the striking surrounding Côtes du Jura guilloché work accentuating the depth effect of the blue dial. The equally refined movement decoration is visible through the sapphire back of the gold case with its patented design.

Honored this past summer by UNESCO and the International Institute for Promotion and Prestige, making Louis Moinet the world’s third watch company to receive this award in half a century, the brand perpetuating the memory of the inventor of the chronograph is definitely not resting on its laurels.
