Tambour Damier Cobalt chronograph

Tambour Damier Cobalt chronograph - Louis Vuitton
Louis Vuitton presents a new version of its Tambour watch, inspired by the famous Damier canvas.

Like a hallmark or signature, the “V“ for Vuitton symbolises the wearer’s belonging to a group of insiders with a precise set of values: sporty, chic and connected. A historic motif with a bold V marking. Simple, graphic, masculine design, the Damier makes it one of the most recognisable motifs in the history of leather goods. It serves as the inspiration for the dial makers at La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton in reproducing the Cobalt Damier canvas on the dial of this chronograph.

Like a final brush stroke, Gaston-Louis Vuitton’s beloved letter “V“ covers the entire dial and flange. These constraints inspired the craftsmen at La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton to fully express their creativity. Perfectly arranged and subtly integrated, the three chronograph counters retain their own individual functions.

Two complementary versions are available. The first, in steel, toys with contrasting white and red, reinforced by the azure seconds hand. It’s a resolutely sporty look, emphasised by the rubber strap with its protruding characters.

The second is in steel covered with midnight blue PVD. The 46 mm case is beautifully balanced in this shade, enhanced by the precious pink gold colour.

Driven by a self-winding movement, which is visible through a sapphire crystal case back engraved with the initials “LV“ on the most exclusive version, these new Tambours are fitted with interchangeable straps featuring Louis Vuitton’s innovative patented system that does not require the use of tools, allowing wearers to match their watch to every occasion and create their own style.
