In keeping with the brand, these new Tambour timepieces remain the ideal travel companions for the nomads of today.

Born in 2002 of the spirit of travel, designed by La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton, the Tambour watch has drawn on all of Louis Vuitton’s various artistic crafts and features all the brand’s codes: the twelve letters of Louis Vuitton engraved directly on the case middle; the short, powerful horns, an allusion to the handles of Gaston-Louis Vuitton’s historic travel trunks; the typography of the applique hour markers that reflect the light of the sunraybrushed dial. Finally, the case, forged from raw material and with a unique form, wide at the base and slender at the tip.

The Tambour watch is now fitted with a patented interchangeable strap system that does not require the use of tools, and can afford to be audacious. From traditional alligator to monogrammed canvas and Louis Vuitton leathers, the brand’s entire leather goods palette is available for the wrist.

There is also a new dial nuance: a powerful sunray-brushed anthracite. A watch that transforms into a precision instrument thanks to the touches of red on the hour markers.

As it divides time according to three scales, the chronograph must retain its readability. Here, contrasts are essential. In order to improve their readability and echo the 44 mm case, the counters are therefore discreetly encircled with polished metal. They are aided by the small touches of red on the hour markers, making them easy to distinguish. Furthermore, all the hands of the chronograph function (hours, minutes and seconds) stand out in a very readable red colour.

At 4 o’ clock the date aperture displays its function effectively with a black disc, but without dominating the dial. The flange, aimed directly at the chronograph’s seconds hand and almost flush, is the finishing touch.

This chronograph is fitted with a self-winding calibre offering a 42-hour power reserve.

Decorated with the same sunray-brushed effect, this GMT model displays the home time with a large red hand. The other Superluminova-coated hands serve the traditional function of displaying the time where the traveller is now.

The watch’s extreme readability is partly due to the angle of the flange, the scale for reading the second time zone. It allows time differences to be distinguished in a glance, perfectly in keeping with Louis Vuitton’s travel instruments.

Driven by a self-winding calibre, this 41.5 mm watch is water resistant to 100 meters.
