Celebrating Summer - Magazine GMT
2 minutes read
The summer edition of GMT hits the newsstands this week with all the latest news and topics from the watch world. As always, WorldTempus readers get privileged access to the magazine’s digital version

To kick off this summer of hope to enjoy more space and more carefree times, Breguet is celebrating the 220th anniversary of the invention of the tourbillon, patented on June 26th 1801. In the third millennium, this invention has become the symbol of watchmaking expertise. Breaking records for thinness, size, weight, speed and regularity, and using ever more high-tech materials, the tourbillon has become the epitome of performance and mastery in fine watchmaking. Over the last 20 years, its production has undoubtedly increased more than tenfold compared to the previous two centuries. This GMT presents a selection of these models. Above all, it heralds the launch of The Millennium Watch Book collection, in the wake of the publication last winter of the essential book on contemporary watchmaking from our publishing house. This collection of ten additional volumes to be successively released up to 2030 is divided into annual themes. In 2021, The Millennium Watch Book - Tourbillon will be published. Our confidence in – and passion for – watches, which we have proudly proclaimed since the year 2000, naturally inspires us to look ahead until at least 2030. We are not the only ones to be undertaking various projects and to believe in clearer skies as the months go by, as the organizers of watch events appear to be making a concerted effort to make the fall 2021 season a festival of face-to-face encounters. Let's hope things will indeed go as planned. Until then, this summer reading filled with smooth and vibrant timepieces awaits you, right on schedule.
