The AIKON Venturer 38 mm is a reinterpretation of the AIKON Venturer 43 mm launched in 2019, which was the uncompromising evolution of the AIKON Automatic. Its presence on the wrist remains intact. The feeling of strength it evokes is preserved. Its ease of wearing for any occasion is more marked than ever. But its robustness gives way to a new, white energy in a tool watch for contemporary women ready to face all their daily adventures.
Still crafted entirely from steel, the surfaces of the 38 mm diameter case are satin-finished, while its edges are polished. The bezel’s six arms – a powerful, characteristic AIKON feature – have been given a functional role. They extend beyond the white ceramic bezel so that it can be easily grasped and rotated in one direction.
The AIKON Venturer 38 mm is water-resistant to 300 meters, a feature which makes it a genuine tool watch. Its screwed case back features a “Vagues du Jura” motif surrounding the engraved “M” logo in the centre, demonstrating the high standard of finishes given to the Venturer. Always true to its philosophy, Maurice Lacroix continues to present timepieces whose perceived value is higher than their price suggests.
White is the new black
For the first time, the AIKON Venturer features white. The lacquered dial is punctuated by 8 rhodium-finished hour-markers and set with diamonds to further enhance its radiance and purity. These feminine codes can also be found in the white rubber strap. Thanks to the EasyChange system, the steel attachment of the AIKON collection with 5 satin-finished links can be easily fitted on the AIKON Venturer 38 mm.
Once again Maurice Lacroix’s style vocabulary shows its full range and versatility. Just as the AIKON Automatic 42 mm evolved into the 35 mm versions, the AIKON Venturer follows a similar trajectory, adapting to specific wearing possibilities and feminine taste. But the original spirit of this family of sporty and chic watches, based on a strong aesthetic statement remains intact.
As further evidence of this commitment to AIKON codes, the AIKON Venturer 38 mm is equipped with a self-winding movement that displays hours, minutes, seconds and date. It complements the watchmaking qualities that are a Maurice Lacroix signature.
The AIKON line
The AIKON Venturer is descended from the Maurice Lacroix Calypso, which included a diver’s version at the time. This steel watch was one of the brand’s iconic models in the 1990s and bore the same design codes that live on in the AIKON Venturer. The integrated and water-resistant case, the six-arm bezel surrounding a flat sapphire crystal and the strap marked with an applied M logo made this model with its exceptional presence the brand’s most iconic product.
In 2016, Maurice Lacroix produced a contemporary reinterpretation of this iconic piece with the AIKON quartz. In 2018, an entire collection of AIKON Automatic pieces continued the saga and was topped off in 2019 with the Venturer, a new branch of the AIKON generation. More feminine, just as modern and even more elegant, the AIKON Venturer 38 mm begins a new chapter in the history of the collection.
