Focus on the 1858 Geosphere Desert

What a joy to find an oasis in the middle of the desert! The new 1858 Geosphere Desert is a refreshing oasis on the watchmaking planet, identifiable at first glance with its two curved rotating globes displaying the time in both hemispheres. It is the signature of Montblanc’s affordable watchmaking luxury, reflecting a certain vision of watchmaking tradition with a distinctive design and almost playful, vibrant innovation. According to Montblanc CEO Nicolas Baretzki, “its laser-engraved titanium caseback illustrating our ambassador Reinhold Messner’s crossing of the Gobi Desert is a real technological breakthrough that only Montblanc is capable of today on such a surface. No color has been applied to it; everything comes from this laser engraving technique that we have developed. “In addition, the color of its case evokes the hot sand of the desert and comes from a special bronze alloy, a delicate material that Montblanc has the know-how to master. This limited series indicates the seven highest peaks in the world climbed by legendary mountaineer Reinhold Messner, as well as Mont Blanc, a nod to the brand’s namesake.
