Seiko - Presage Green Enamel Dial Limited Edition

Seiko Presage Green Enamel Dial Limited Edition

The brand presents the Presage Green Enamel Dial Limited Edition, inspired by Japanese greenery.

Although the timepieces in the Presage collection often have brightly coloured dials, some have dials made using traditional Japanese craftsmanship with unique execution. Inspired by Japanese nature, Seiko offers the new Presage Green Enamel Dial Limited Edition. The unexpected green colour of the dial is reminiscent of the forest landscape in the heart of Japan, in particular cedar trees, known to remain green all year round. Based on the idea of recreating the same durable green from Japanese cedar using durable enamel, Mitsuru Yokosawa, an enamel craftsman who made the dials for the 2017 Presage enamel collection, created a new green enamel dial. The creation of this enamel shade is difficult to achieve due to the limited number of colour pigments that can resist the high heat of the oven (up to 800°C) during the enamel vitrification step. Recreating the exact green colour of cedar in the enamel is therefore a complex technical task. With this creation, the Presage collection is now at a higher level.

The watch of the Presage collection, limited to 2,000 pieces, reflects the Japanese natural environment, not only through the original colour of the dial but also through the hands and the thick metal indexes relating to the odd hours, which recall the shape Japanese cedar pine needles. The legibility provided by these indexes as well as the presence of the date on the dial allow a sharp anchoring in time. By means of these elements oriented towards the shapes of the conifer, this watch creation stands out from the rest of the collection.

The stainless-steel case has a diameter of 40.5mm and a thickness of 12.4mm. On its back, which shows an automatic movement, is the serial number of the piece, giving a unique touch to the timepiece. The heart of the watch is powered by the 6R35 calibre with a 70-hour power reserve.

Still in a natural register, the limited edition’s strap is made of brown crocodile leather and comes with a triple folding clasp with push button. Despite its earthy style, the Presage Green Enamel Dial Limited Edition adapts to the aquatic environment by being able to descend to a depth of 100 metres.
