Three new Aquaracer dive watches come in khaki green, and blue and brown tortoiseshell patterns. These timepieces enhance the sporty collection with avant-garde designs, unlike anything ever seen in the brand’s selection. The first timepiece, available since June, is stylish and rugged in olive-green khaki, while the two following models, available in August, feature a trendy tortoiseshell pattern on the bezel.
True to the Aquaracer collection’s ocean-inspired heritage, the sporty and colourful special-edition timepieces are perfectly suited to a life of adventure in and around the water — ready to accompany wearers during all their favourite summertime activities, from the beach to the boat and beneath the waves.
Trendy olive-green khaki gives the TAG Heuer Aquaracer a rugged, laid-back style
Introducing two firsts to the sporty Aquaracer collection, the Aquaracer 43 mm Khaki Special Edition features a contemporary combination of a sturdy fabric strap and sleek anthracite sunray brushed dial. The olive-green colour adorns the aluminium unidirectional rotating bezel and the strap with a steel pin buckle. The 43 mm quartz timepiece features a polished and fine-brushed steel case. In line with the Aquaracer’s reputation for precision in performance, the rhodium-plated hour, minute and seconds hands are coated with white Super-LumiNova® and there is a chamfered date window at 3 o’clock on the dial. Engraved on the caseback is the image of a vintagedivers’ helmet and the water-resistance of this elegant yet casual Aquaracer model: 300 metres/1,000 feet.
TAG Heuer’s first tortoiseshell pattern
Inspired by the sunlight reflecting off the ocean waves, the luxury watchmaker has created a magnificent tortoiseshell effect on the Aquaracer bezel using an innovative resin technique. The dark and light blue hues are reminiscent of the ocean’s surface, as seen from the deck of a yacht, an effect which is enhanced by the blue sunray brushed dial with horizontal lines. The Aquaracer 43 mm Tortoise Shell Effect Special Edition is also available with a contemporary brown tortoiseshell pattern on the bezel and a black sunray brushed dial with horizontal stripes. As with its blue counterpart, the pattern on this version is made with an innovative resin effect — a first for TAG Heuer.
Strengthening the timepieces’ functionality is the 60-minute scale on the unidirectional rotating bezel and the angled magnifying lens over the date window at 3 o’clock. The rhodium-plated applied indexes and hour, minute and seconds hands are coated with white Super-LumiNova® for enhanced legibility in all lighting conditions. Another first for the brand with these special-edition models is the high-end rubber strap, which features an alligator leather pattern and a steel folding clasp with double safety push buttons. This allows the wearer to sport a luxurious watch in total comfort while enjoying all manners of nautical activities. The 43 mm timepieces are fashioned from polished and fine-brushed stainless steel and powered by the automatic Aquaracer Calibre 5. The stainless-steel screw-down caseback is engraved with the image of a vintage divers’ helmet and the Aquaracer’s impressive water-resistance of 300 metres/1,000 feet.
