TAG Heuer - TAG Heuer Monza Calibre 17, unique piece

TAG Heuer TAG Heuer Monza Calibre 17, unique piece

Get your own unique piece of history with this one-of-a-kind TAG Heuer Monza Calibre 17.

As a reminder of just how long TAG Heuer has been involved in motorsport: the original Heuer Monza was launched in 1976 to mark Ferrari’s 1975 Formula 1 World Championship title with Nikki Lauda and Clay Regazzoni. It fits alongside other legendary models named after the world’s most iconic motor racing circuits, such as Monaco and Silverstone.

WorldTempus is offering a unique edition derived from the special numbered edition of the Monza that was presented in 2016 in celebration of the 40-year anniversary of the Heuer Monza, which has a solid case back engraved with the vintage HEUER logo and the individual number of the watch. This modern reinterpretation of the classic has all the features of the original, from the cushion-shaped case to the large perforations on the black calfskin leather strap (reminiscent of vintage car steering wheels) and the beige SuperLuminova hour numerals that evoke the sought-after “tropical” look of vintage watches. More significantly, the Monza Calibre 17 Chronograph is the first reissue of a vintage Heuer model to feature both the tachymeter scale common on most chronographs and a less common pulsometer scale with red markings.

The unique piece on offer from WorldTempus has been brought into line with modern trends with a larger case diameter (42mm instead of the original 39mm) and an all-black look achieved by the use of brushed and polished titanium carbide coated grade 5 titanium for the case, black lacquer for the dial, black full-grain calfskin for the perforated strap and black-coated titanium for the folding clasp. Timekeeping is provided by the TAG Heuer calibre 17, which is a Swiss Made self-winding chronograph calibre with 42 hours of power reserve and 100 metre water resistance to reaffirm the model’s sporty credentials.

A beige “16” in Arabic numerals replaces the usual baton hour marker on the dial in the 4 o’clock position to signify that this model is special. TAG Heuer has kindly agreed to produce this extra-special one-off piece to celebrate WorldTempus’s sixteen years of uninterrupted activity as a website dedicated to providing the latest news form the watch industry. This unique piece is only available for purchase from WorldTempus. What’s more, for the standard Swiss retail price of CHF 4,900 you get this unique piece PLUS an elegant wooden, pebble-shaped Reuge Satori music box worth 990 Swiss francs thrown in for free.$

Anyone interested in purchasing this unique watch should send an email to WorldTempus’s director, Brice Lechevalier (brice.lechevalier@worldtempus.com), co-creator of this one-of-a-kind model and your personal contact for all requests.
