Inspired by Stefan Zweig’s novel of the same name, in which the main character sets out to meet his fellow man as well as himself, the name of this second Trilobe collection is at least as striking as the configuration of its grained dial. Still hand-free just as it was in the first Les Matinaux collection, the refined dial retains the trilogy of circles expressing a playfully original and patented reading of time. The brand’s famous Trilobe index and architectural symbol points to the hours moving past on the outer rotating ring. Housed in two apertures forming the infinity figure eight, the minute disks (above) and the seconds disk (the broader one below, adorned with a Clous de Paris hobnail pattern) are in a state of constant rotation.
Visible through the caseback, the new movement developed exclusively for Trilobe and designed by its founder Gautier Massonneau reinforces the very specific image of the youthful brand, which has already been nominated twice by the le Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève and Only Watch. Its excellent quality/price ratio contributes to widening the circle of connoisseurs who have become its loyal followers.
