Zenith El Primero Lightweight honored at the GPHG

The “Sports Watch” category prize of the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève has been won by the El Primero Lightweight watch.

The first watch to come out of the partnership between Zenith and Spindrift racing has been honoured with this prize by the Jury of the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix. Yann Guichard, the Managing Director and Spindrift racing team skipper has just started the Route du Rhum on Sunday 2nd November in Saint-Malo.

This is the fourth consecutive year in which Zenith Manufacture has been recognised by awards at the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève. In 2011, at the Christopher Columbus academy, they were recognised in the "Grand Complication Watch" category, in 2012, at the Pilot Big Date Special, they were recognised in the "Hour hand"category, and in 2013, at the El Primero Stratos Flyback Stiking 10th tribute to Felix Baumgartner, they were recognised in the "Sports Watch" category.

For Aldo Magada, CEO and President of the brand, "this prize highlights Zenith's capacity for innovation and continuous striving to push boundaries. As a manufacturer, Zenith has a creative power that allows it to weave together savoir-faire, tradition and new technologies without compromising its identity in any way. I am therefore very proud to receive this prize on behalf of Zenith."
