About

DOXA was founded in 1889 by an independent Swiss entrepreneur, Georges Ducommun. Located in Le Locle (NE), in the heart of the birthplace of Swiss watchmaking, the brand has always offered technical watches with thoughtful pricing. Established in its first years (1905), creative (8-day calibre dedicated to automotive), DOXA also distinguished themselves from the competition with their designs (the Grafic watch, 1957).

It’s in the second half of the 20th century that DOXA affirmed its uncontested expertise in technical watches by creating one of the first dive watches available for the wider public, the DOXA SUB. The watch was a long-time companion of Commander Cousteau. Still in production, 100% assembled in Switzerland just like any other DOXA watch, it remains a staple in the dive watch category. More than 130 years after its creation, DOXA is today owned by the Jenny family, who acquired it at the turn of the century.

Philosophy

Swiss watches of high quality, technical and with a clear function: that is the philosophy that reigned supreme at the brand 130 years ago and still persisted in the 20th century. With its first creations awarded at the World’s Fairs of 1905 and 1906, with calibres that equipped racing Bugattis and the mythical DOXA SUB of 1967, DOXA has carefully developed the associations made with its name: that of reputable glory.

By giving their watches to the most renowned divers in the world, such as Commander Cousteau, DOXA has always been able to certify the high quality and technical ability of the watches they propose to their clients. Benefiting from a heritage founded on innovation (the first patented rotational bezel that allowed divers to read decompression levels, the first orange dial), the brand continues its quest in total independence, following in the spirit of its first watches “Georges Ducommun – Fabrique DOXA”.

Collections

SUB 200

Unveiled at Baselworld 2019, the DOXA SUB 200 is the entryway—or rather the first step—into the diving universe at DOXA. This authentic three-hand diving watch has a 42mm stainless steel 316L case with anti-glare and scratch-resistant sapphire, curved in the same spirit as the rounded Plexiglas used in the past. Water-resistant to 200 meters (20 ATM), the piece has a unidirectional rotating bezel. All the elements that provide essential information for a dive, including the bezel, are covered in luminescent Super-LumiNova.

SUB 200 T.Graph

To celebrate its 50th anniversary, the brand’s first icon returned to the surface in 2019 in the form of a limited edition of 13 pieces. Produced in gold, numbered, engraved on the caseback, this exceptional edition houses a VALJOUX 7734 movement that DOXA has been keeping in their archives for 30 years. With a water-resistance of 200 meters, the DOXA SUB 200 T.GRAPH has the famous patented unidirectional rotating bezel with the double indicators for the length of a dive in minutes and the depth measured in feet, meant for an ascension without a reader for decompression levels. A rare piece, for collectors in the know.

SUB 300T

In 1969, the SUB 300T is one of the first diving watches destined for the wider public. Its name: The Conquistador. 50 years after its creation, the SUB 300T in 2019 pays homage to its ancestor. Available in six different colours, including the famous DOXA orange, the piece is a subtle blend of characteristics from its predecessors and the latest watchmaking innovations from the brand. Guaranteed water-resistance to 1,200 meters, it is equipped with a patented unidirectional rotating bezel and an integrated calculator for dive time without decompression.

SUB 1500T

A worthy successor of the Conquistador, the SUB 1500T goes down to the very limits of marine exploration with a water-resistance of 1’500 meters. Also available in six colours, it is equipped with a helium decompression valve as well as a unidirectional bezel for professional usage.

SUB 4000T

A prime example of a professional watch, the SUB 4000T is a limited edition that offers a new case in an asymmetrical shape with a diameter of 47.5mm. It is also the only piece to display on its dial (available in six colour variants) a power-reserve indicator for its automatic winding movement (42-hours guaranteed). The SUB 4000T, water-resistant to 1’200 meters, is limited to 300 pieces with a steel bezel and 200 pieces with a sapphire bezel.
