Jacob Arabo arrived in the United States from Russia in 1979. He studied jewellery in New York and founded Jacob & Co. in 1986. Fascinated by fine watchmaking and mechanical art, he began his watchmaking business in 2002, and this now represents a major part of his business.
In less than five years, the man nicknamed “Jacob the Jeweller” became a reference in the United States and successfully earned himself an international reputation. His exclusive creations and their assertive character are prized by a great many celebrities, musicians and sportspeople, in particular basketball players Shaquille O’Neal and Stephon Marbury, as well as politicians and royalty. In 2004, Jacob & Co. opened its store on New York’s 57th Street.
Jacob Arabo, whose material of choice is diamond-studded platinum, owes his reputation to completely new, innovative watchmaking creations, their very distinctive aesthetic appearance and their grand complications, such as Tourbillons equipped with a 31-day power reserve and timepieces with five time bands on the same movement.
