Daniel Montandon combined his personal passion for yachting and fine watchmaking with a rich family history in the world of watchmaking to launch the Montandon & Co. watch brand that will focus on producing contemporary wristwatches based on the principles and aesthetics of 21st century marine chronometer.
 
The brand’s timepieces are manufactured entirely in the very heartland of the Swiss watchmaking industry, in the Joux Valley, where specialized craftsmen manufacture, decorate and assemble the components for the movements. With a case almost as complicated as the movement inside it, everything about a Montandon & Co. wristwatch is geared towards combining refinement and functionality with a robustness to withstand the elements, whether on land or at sea.

1951
Daniel Montandon is born into a family of watchmakers.
1981
Daniel Montandon puts his name to a number of prestigious projects as a naval architect.
1994
He becomes a watch distributor and opens up eastern European markets for some 15 different brands.
2008
The Montandon & Co. name is registered.
2016
The Windward collection is launched.
Philosophy

Montandon & Co. focuses not just on the in-house design, production and assembly of its movements but also on the complex cases of its watches, paying great attention to details and to the comfort and usability in all conditions. Use of the most precious materials is part and parcel of the brand’s approach, meaning that precious metals are used wherever possible and meticulous decoration and finishing is applied to the individual components.
