For the winter edition of WorldTempus on Tour in Zermatt, we test watches during a frozen experience on a glacial via ferrata

For the second edition of WorldTempus on Tour – a concept where the WorldTempus editorial team leaves the office for a week to travel and create exclusive content – we visited the Swiss ski resort of Zermatt in the Swiss Alps. Determined to put sports watches to the ultimate test as well as test their courage, our journalists embarked on a winter via ferrata adventure high up in Zermatt’s Gorner Gorge. Where most adventurers do this type of climbing experience in the summer, this version was glacial with snow and icy to make it even more death-defying! Firmly attached to their wrists, the Alpina Alpiner Extreme Automatic, the Doxa SUB 200 Whitepearl, the Montblanc 1858 Iced Sea Automatic Date, the Panerai Submersible QuarantaQuattro Goldtech OroCarbon, and the TAG Heuer Aquaracer accompanied them on their journey – See below.
