TAG Heuer hosted an award ceremony beginning of October in Tokyo: the 2013 Japan Motor Racing Hall of Fame.
Established in 2011, and now in its third year, the aim of the Japan Motor Racing Hall of Fame is to reward persons who have made significant contributions to Japanese motor sports as well as to the automotive industry and culture.
The winners of this 2013 edition are Toshiaki Karasawa (actor, Car Culture Enthusiast category), Hideo Kodama (car designer, Designer category), Kunimitsu Takahashi (former racer, Racing Legend category) and Shozaburo Nakamura (former politician, Motor Racing World category). Also, the Young Hope Award was established with the aim of celebrating young racers who are expected to play an important role in the future of motorsports in Japan and worldwide. In 2012, this award was given to Ryo Hirakawa.
Jenson Button and André Lotterer were also present.
