Sal Fish, President of Score International and Eric Loth, CEO of Graham Watches partner-up in a non precedent alliance to create the first Score International Baja 1000 Timepiece to commemorate its 45th anniversary.

 

It's more than a race, it's an adventure...


From Sept 22nd to Sept 25th Score International and Graham will take a worldwide selection of journalists in a journey into the heart of the legendary Baja 1000 race following the footsteps or more accurately the "tire marks" of thousands of racers from all over the world who come to race every year and for 45 years this unique desert race. During this journey the guests will be able to live a track pre-running experience on board of current racer's pre-runners vehicles such as Gustavo Vildosola Father and Son, first Mexican winners of the 2010 Baja 1000 race edition.

ABOUT SAL FISH

Sal Fish (born May 2, 1939 in Los Angeles, California) is CEO/President of SCORE International, the leading sanctioning body in the sport of desert racing. The SCORE race series include the Baja 1000, Baja 500, San Felipe 250, Primm 300, Laughlin Desert Challenge and Las Vegas Terrible's Cup. Fish earned an industrial relations degree at the University of San Francisco. Having first raced in Mexico in 1970, Fish started his entrepreneurial career in desert racing in 1973 when the late Mickey Thompson, founder of SCORE International, recruited him. Fish brought innovation to SCORE, organizing class rules, implementing safety procedures, and transforming the Baja 1000into one of the most recognized motorsports events in the world today. In 1985 Fish brought unity to the sport when SCORE formed a combined series with Walt Lott and High Desert Racing Association (HDRA). Fish later teamed up with CFO, Ted Johnson to purchase SCORE International from Thompson in 1986 and HDRA in 1993.

ABOUT THE LEGENDARY TECATE SCORE BAJA 1000

The legendary Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 stands as tall at the pinnacle of the motorsports world today as it did when it began 44 years ago. This year's historic 45th anniversary race will be held Nov. 14-17. It will start in the heart of Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico and finish over 1,000 Miles down the majestic Baja California peninsula in La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico. Over 300 entries, competing in 35 Pro and 7 Sportsman classes for cars, trucks, motorcycles and ATVs will be part of this year's odyssey.

It's the oldest and most well known of all desert races, and it remains as the single most appealing accomplishment to a driver. The Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 has captured the imagination of the entire world as entries have come not only from every state in the United States and the District of Columbia, but also has attracted racers from all over the world. “The SCORE Baja 1000 continues to draw interest from all over the world and we now find second and even third generation racers appearing at the starting line with their family patriarchs cheering for their off-spring. This event continues to be the focal point of the SCORE Desert Series each year and to celebrate our 45th anniversary will surely add another colourful chapter to the legacy of the SCORE Baja 1000.”
