The bestselling Montblanc Star Legacy Full Calendar watch returns with a new midnight blue dial as well as the addition of the Maison’s interchangeable strap system

Montblanc’s full calendar is among the brand’s best-selling complications, reflecting a need to track the time, days, and months that dates back to the earliest civilizations. This collection continues to evolve today with the addition of the Montblanc Star Legacy Full Calendar model, featuring a midnight blue dial and an interchangeable stainless steel bracelet and sfumato alligator leather strap.

When the clock strikes 12

The word ‘midnight’ is short for “middle of the night”, a moment in time that is exactly halfway between sunset and sunrise. This “middle of the night” moment – called solar midnight – actually rarely occurs exactly at 12 a.m. due to the invention of time zones across regions and daylight saving time. Nonetheless, the color of a clear midnight sky, solar or otherwise, has been an inspiration to many, and now also becomes the muse to the new Montblanc Star Legacy provided inspiration to artists Full Calendar watch.

Montblanc Star Legacy Full Calendar

The Montblanc Star Legacy Full Calendar watch, with its new midnight blue exploding star guilloché dial, indicates the hours, minutes, and seconds as well as the day, date, month, and moonphase in a simple yet elegant way. The timepiece comes in a 42mm stainless steel, pebble-shaped case with straight horns with steps on the side, as well as an open sapphire crystal caseback.

The design codes of this practical timepiece are directly rooted in the spirit of fine watchmaking and draw upon the 165 years of Minerva heritage. All the codes of the Montblanc Star Legacy collection are present, including silver-colored Roman numerals, leaf-shaped hands, a railway track with dots, a filet sauté that runs around the periphery of the dial, a date hand with silver-colored half-moon tip, and an elegant Montblanc emblem on the counterweight of the second hand.

The revised movement

The Montblanc Star Legacy Full Calendar watch is powered by Montblanc’s automatic movement, the Calibre MB 24.30, which was introduced in 2022. This revised movement simplified the setting of the calendar by using two pushers, instead of the previous four. There were also a host of enhanced features, including a wider moon phase aperture, enhanced legibility of the day and month apertures, and improved approx. 50-hour power reserve and water resistance up to 5 bar (approx. 50 meters).

New interchangeability

Another new feature of the Montblanc Star Legacy Full Calendar watch is the addition of Montblanc’s interchangeable strap system, which is simple and easy to use without the need for tools. This new model comes with both a stainless steel bracelet and a blue sfumato alligator leather strap in a matching midnight blue to the dial.
