A new Fabergé Visionnaire DTZ in yellow gold brings autumnal colours to the brand’s award-winning dual-time piece.

After it was first introduced in 2016 with the contemporary luxury of white and rose gold cases combined with titanium, for autumn 2018 Fabergé presents a new Visionnaire DTZ model with a case in 18-carat yellow gold and titanium paired with a blue dial and brown calfskin strap that adds a vintage touch to the collection and a colourway that is perfect for this time of year.

Yellow gold has experienced a small renaissance in recent years, notably thanks to its use in such iconic collections as the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak and, more recently, the revised 2018 Cartier Santos models. In the new Fabergé Visionnaire DTZ, however, the precious metal is not simply another iteration but a genuine enhancement to the collection. The brushed case has mixed components of yellow gold and titanium and an entirely new dial colour has been paired with the new case.

The result, in the words of Aurélie Picaud, Timepieces Director for Fabergé, “adds a vintage twist on the classic style of the original design, while retaining the key elements that really characterise the Fabergé brand: heritage, ingenuity, surprise and craftsmanship, resulting in a distinctively powerful aesthetic”.

The new model serves to extend the offering in Fabergé’s award-winning Visionnaire line, which won the Travel Time category at the GPHG in 2016 thanks to its unique central second time zone indication, which indicates the hour of a second time zone by digits through a specially developed magnifying lens.

The gold accents extend from the case to the flange around the blue dial, the applied numerals and indices and the central surround for the second time zone. The crown at 3 o’clock is also in yellow gold (with a black rubber protector), as is the pusher at 2 o’clock for adjusting the second time zone. The brown calfskin strap, with its slightly aged look, is the perfect complement to the warm autumnal colours of this watch.

The Visionnaire DTZ is powered by the calibre 6924 movement developed by Agenhor for Fabergé. The winding rotor is found on the dial side and its barely perceptible movement offers little distraction from reading the time, which is shown by truncated hour and minute hands that are attached to hidden discs. As a result, the full workings of this innovative movement can be viewed through a transparent sapphire crystal case back. The Visionnaire DTZ has a 50-hour power reserve and is water resistant to 50 metres.

This new model is now available in stores and online and is priced at 29,500 US dollars.
