Focus on The Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Edition “Blue Angels”

The news should give wings to fans of the watches created as part of IWC’s military program: hitherto reserved exclusively for pilots in the aeronautical units of the U.S. Navy and the Marines, they are now available to civilians in a limited production run of 500 per year. Among the three chronographs unveiled by IWC, the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Edition “Blue Angels®” celebrates the virtuoso skills of the pilots in this demonstration squadron created in 1946. Directly inspired by a watch previously developed in collaboration with members of the squadron, this new chrono features a 44.5mm bright blue ceramic case with chronograph pushers and a Ceratanium crown, as well as a blue dial adorned with the Blue Angels crest framed by the gold wings of the U.S. Navy. To power it, IWC has opted for an ‘engine’ renowned for its robustness, reliability and precision, IWC-manufactured Caliber 69380, which powers the chronograph indications, small seconds as well as the date and day of the week.
