What a treat to join Piaget for a screening of this girl-power action movie at Geneva’s Cine17 last week. The story follows CIA agent Mason “Mace” Brown (Jessica Chastain and Piaget Friend of the brand), German agent Marie (Diane Kruger), former M16 computer specialist Khadijah (Lupita Nyong’o), and Colombian psychologist Graciela (Penelope Cruz) on a mission to save the world when a top-secret weapon falls into the wrong hands. The foursome travel all over the world to find the bad guys, exhibiting some fine fighting skills along the way. They end up in Shanghai where they join forces with Lin Mi Sheng (Fan Bingbing) who brings the number of agents to five.
But it isn’t the fighting that is necessarily catching this movie theatre’s attention. As the guests of Piaget, we have our eyes on the watches and jewellery that have been expertly incorporated into the storyline. Every piece was carefully curated by the film’s acclaimed costume designer Stephanie Collie who made sure that each piece went perfectly with each character.
Jessica Chastain
One of the first creations we spot is the Piaget Possession ring with its turning bands on the finger of Jessica Chastain. This is followed by Piaget Rose Earrings and a Piaget Treasures set of Earrings and a necklace.
Diana Kruger
Rose gold was the precious metal of choice for Diane Krugar who is seen wearing an haute joaillerie necklace, a Piaget Secrets and Lights ring, and Possession and Rose earrings.
Penelope Cruz
The only female agent to wear a watch, Penelope Cruz rocks the 34mm Altiplano Origin in rose gold with an ultra-thin manual movement. It is paired with an elegant white dial with a small seconds counter at 10 o’clock and a brown alligator strap. On the jewellery side, Cruz dazzles in Piaget Rose earrings, ring, and necklace in white gold and diamonds.
Lupita Nyong’o
Piaget Sunlight earrings and necklace catch our movie-goers eyes with their striking design and diamond settings on Lupita Nyong’o. She is also spotted wearing two different Piaget Possession rings.
Fan Bingbing
One of the few Chinese actresses to have conquered Hollywood, Fan Bingbing shines in a stunning Piaget Sunny Side of Life necklace and earrings, and later with rose gold Piaget Possession earrings.
Watch spotting continues on the villains
Two of the film’s villains are also spotted wearing Piaget. Nick, played by Sebastian Stan, is seen wearing the Piaget Altiplano Origin with a white dial and black alligator strap, while Elijah Clarke, played by Jason Flemyng, is seen wearing the ultra-thin Piaget Altiplano Ultimate Automatic. And last not but least, Luis, played by Edgar Ramirez, and who is one of the good guys, wears a Piaget Polo with a deep blue dial.
For everyone who loves watch spotting at the movies, 355 is a real treat with numerous watches and jewellery beautifully shot for the silver screen to look out for. And if you love action/thrillers, like we do, you are in for a double treat!
