An instrument for displaying the amount of tension in the mainspring so as to maintain it within an ideal working range. Developed by Audemars Piguet, this mechanism displays the torque supplied by the mainspring. While the dynamograph hand remains in the delimited zone, the movement receives the exact amount of energy needed for peak precision. As soon as it leaves this zone, the movement should be rewound.
