For Geneva Watch Days 2026, Bvlgari crosses a new threshold by partnering for the first time with an independent watchmaker on the Octo Finissimo collection: Vianney Halter.
Here, two identities meet in a creation of rare coherence, where every detail testifies to a mastered balance between two distinct signatures.
An unprecedented collaboration in Octo Finissimo History
Geneva Watch Days 2026: Bvlgari partners with master watchmaker Vianney Halter for a collaboration that transcends the boundaries between two worlds that seem, at first glance, to be opposites. It is a first for this iconic collection: never before has an independent watchmaker worked from the Octo Finissimo’s iconic movement as the foundation for his own vision. The joint design by Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani, Product Creation Executive Director at Bvlgari, and Vianney Halter takes the Octo Finissimo into uncharted territory — a retrofuture somewhere between the Victorian era and science fiction, inspired by Jules Verne and precision engineering.
Vianney Halter stands apart in haute horlogerie. Passionate about aviation, mechanics and graphic novels, this independent watchmaker with an immediately recognisable style creates pieces that are as much mechanical sculptures as timekeepers. His aesthetic — composed of industrial details, multiple displays and three-dimensional architectural complexity — has made him one of the most singular and collected personalities of his generation.
"I enjoy partnerships like this one — they force my mind to adapt to another party's imperatives. It is an exercise I rarely get to experience when creating for myself, as I design the movement and the case simultaneously. The Octo Finissimo, with its specific aesthetic and technical mastery, made the challenge even more compelling. Adapting to Bvlgari’s essence while integrating my own style and mechanical ideas is a stimulating exercise, especially when the dialogue is fluid and engaging. We discussed from the outset what would be interesting to create together from both a technical and creative perspective, and the result merges two universes while keeping both instantly recognisable. The rigorous geometry of the Octo Finissimo case enhances the construction of independent dials, characteristic of Vianney Halter; the ultra-thin movement integrates new functions while preserving the distinctive qualities that have earned its reputation among watch enthusiasts,” explains Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani, Product Creation Executive Director.

The Bvlgari Octo Finissimo collection embodies the ideal union of watchmaking engineering and refined Italian aesthetics. Celebrated for its 10 world records, this line defines contemporary elegance by continually pushing the boundaries of what is possible. Each piece is a work of art, characterised by a subtle interplay of innovative materials and consistently groundbreaking finishes.
The Octo Finissimo Dual Time × Vianney Halter sacrifices nothing of one identity for the other. The geometric DNA and proportional discipline of the Octo Finissimo remain fully present, while Vianney Halter’s signature asserts itself with immediate authority: four opaline white dials — the watchmaker’s emblematic colour — characteristically shaped hands in blue, a red arrow seconds hand, and a rotor engraved with Vianney Halter’s signature. The result is a rare balance, where each detail belongs simultaneously to both worlds.
Unprecedented technical prowess
Behind this exceptional aesthetic lies considerable technical complexity. The 40.5 mm case comprises more than 50 components. Elevating the refinement and complexity of this horological creation required overcoming major technical challenges. From the precision-engineered flatness of its components to the ingenuity of its integrated crown guards, every detail has been conceived to unite aesthetics with technical prowess, ensuring water resistance without compromising refined design. Born from integrated expertise, the creation of this exceptional timepiece has been entirely orchestrated by Bvlgari’s teams, from the case and dial’s sophisticated aesthetics and the art of finishing to the technical achievement of the movement and its mechanics.
Manufactured in-house across the workshops of Saignelégier and Le Sentier, this timepiece is powered by the BVL 138 calibre, enriched with specific modules developed for this collaboration to integrate GMT, Date and Day/Night functions. Designing and making these singular dials came with both artistic and technical challenges, requiring opaline of perfect homogeneity across four distinct elements while integrating different techniques. Miniaturising components necessitated the creation of entirely dedicated manufacturing tools — a feat that testifies to the level of rigour Bvlgari has imposed upon itself to realise Vianney Halter’s vision.
Despite this unprecedented complexity, the watch preserves the Octo Finissimo’s signature proportions: a 40.5 mm diameter for 9.70 mm of thickness. Within the watch beats the maison’s new BVF 200 calibre of 5.49 mm. It features automatic winding with a micro-rotor and delivers 60 hours of power reserve. Bvlgari’s commitment to innovation is further illustrated this year by the launch of another exceptional movement: the Octo Finissimo 37 fitted with the BVF 100 calibre.
Two exceptional iterations
This collaboration comes in two exclusive versions, both limited editions:
The first, in brushed titanium, lends the watch a mineral elegance that highlights the richness of the four opaline dials. Limited to 30 pieces, it is paired with a brushed titanium integrated bracelet with deployant clasp.
The second, in polished satin pink gold, brings a luminous warmth that dialogues with the opaline dials and brown alligator bracelet. Limited to 15 pieces, it represents the most precious interpretation of this singular union.

A Watch That Challenges Legibility
The Octo Finissimo Dazzle begins with a radical idea: to create a watch that defies its own legibility. The geometric pattern covering the entire titanium case seems to dissolve the Octo Finissimo’s lines in an intriguing optical illusion, leaving only the outline visible — as if the watch itself sought to disappear into its own design.
This approach continues the thread of previous artistic collaborations, where each piece represents a profound reinterpretation of the watch as a creative object and a dialogue with a particular creative sensibility.
The Legacy of the Dazzle Camouglage
The Octo Finissimo Dazzle’s finish draws directly from automotive camouflage — a technique used by manufacturers to conceal a vehicle’s true silhouette during road testing by wrapping its bodywork in fragmented geometric patterns that confuse the eye and blur the car’s lines.
Bvlgari adopted this principle of visual disruption and transposed it onto the Octo Finissimo’s 40 mm case. The result is striking: the watch’s characteristic angles merge into the pattern, surface planes intermingle, and the form — uncannily recognisable — retreats from view. Dial and integrated bracelet become one. Only the contours remain, asserting a paradoxical presence between revelation and concealment.
“The Octo Finissimo Dazzle embodies the fusion of aesthetics and functionality. The watch almost completely relinquishes its primary function — telling the time — and transforms into something else through a texture that flows into the design. All is hidden, camouflaged, integrated into a pattern of square elements that represent the module on which the case and bracelet geometry rests. Only the bezel is spared — because it captures the collection’s very essence. Once again, the Octo Finissimo becomes a space of experimentation — and remains so unique that its silhouette alone renders it recognisable,” explains Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani, Product Creation Executive Director.
Laser Precision in Service of Ilusion
To give form to this vision, Bvlgari turned to laser engraving — a technique mastered in-house by the Maison. This rarity makes it the ideal tool for such a singular project: capable of absolute precision, the laser enables every titanium surface of the watch to be covered with a network of geometric patterns of a fineness and regularity that are impossible to achieve through any other process.
The engraving thus obtained is not applied decoration — it is the watch itself, transformed from within by light and materials.

This manifests in the ideal balance struck between brushed titanium and rubber, but also in a fluid reinterpretation of the iconic black and white chromatic codes from 1999 – in black and grey, now highlighted on the dial of the new Bvlgari Chronograph. Crisp and graphic, and rendered in deep matte black underscored by the grey of the hands, the dial takes on an even more technical character through a redesigned chronograph counter and a new tachymetric scale.
Inside the 41 mm titanium case, the maison’s B381 automatic chronograph calibre beats with a 42-hour power reserve.
