Initially published in a bilingual French-English edition, the guide dedicated to Geneva’s watchmaking heritage and expertise is now available in two additional bilingual editions: German-Italian and Spanish-Brazilian Portuguese. This expansion will introduce Geneva’s watchmaking culture to a wider international audience and further strengthen the city’s reputation as a must-visit destination in the world of watchmaking.
A Tribute to the World Capital of Fine Watchmaking
A symbol of excellence and innovation, Geneva has a unique relationship with the art of timekeeping. Watchmaking is far more than a heritage industry here: it is a shared language between craftspeople, engineers, designers and enthusiasts, reflecting a constant dialogue between tradition and modernity. Through the Geneva Watchmaking Guide, the Geneva Tourism & Conventions Foundation and the Fondation Haute Horlogerie celebrate this living heritage while showcasing the contemporary expertise that ensures its enduring legacy.
“Fine watchmaking is much more than the art of measuring time: it is a culture built on exacting standards, attention to detail and the transmission of knowledge. This guide offers valuable insights into this exceptional world. Through our collaboration with Geneva Tourism, we share a common ambition: to make this culture accessible to everyone and to showcase Geneva’s watchmaking expertise to an ever-wider audience,” says Aurélie Streit, Vice-President of the Fondation Haute Horlogerie (FHH).

Strengthening Geneva’s International Profile
This latest development also reflects the inherently international nature of Geneva’s watchmaking industry and the diversity of the destination’s key tourism markets.
By complementing the existing French and English edition with new editions in German, Italian, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese, Geneva Tourism and the Fondation Haute Horlogerie aim to make Geneva’s watchmaking world more accessible to new audiences and enhance the destination’s visibility across several strategic markets.
The Geneva Watchmaking Guide will also support the destination’s international promotional activities and feature at major watchmaking events with which Geneva is closely associated.
