Ex-CEO of Baume & Mercier Michel Nieto Now Employed by Italian-Owned Bulgari Group

Effective one week ago as reported by the website Businessmontres, Michel Nieto has assumed the post as director of operations at the Bulgari manufactory in Le Sentier (Vallée de Joux). He thus replaces Jean-Louis Sapin as the head of the haute horlogerie workshop production for the Bulgari group.
Nieto resigned as CEO of Baume & Mercier to the Richemont group in September after a strategic disagreement. This occurred just days apart from Fabian Krone's resignation as head of Richemont-owned A. Lange & Söhne.
The Le Sentier-based manufactory completes the manufacture of the timepieces signed by the Daniel Roth and Gérald Genta brands. These brands were sold to the Bulgari group in 2000 by Singapore's Hour Glass, who had bought them individually in 1999. The workshops also complete the movements and modules for Bulgari's complicated timepieces.
