Lange watches win at reader’s awards in Germany and Italy.

On 27 February 2014, the “Golden Balance 2014” was granted two times to A. Lange & Söhne. In the top category “watches priced over 25,000 Euro”, the winner was the 1815 Rattrapante Perpetual Calendar in platinum, which has been launched only last year. The 1815 Up/Down in pink gold won in the category “watches priced up to 25,000 Euro”. The two awards were accepted with pleasure by Lange CEO Wilhelm Schmid at a gala event in Munich’s Lenbach Palais.

Since 1998, the readers of the German watch journal “Uhren Magazin“, the news magazine “Focus” and the users of “Focus-Online” vote for their favourites. The participants had to choose this time between 359 mechanical watches.

In Italy, watch enthusiasts have recently also chosen their favourites. At a competition held by the watch journal “L'Orologio”, the Grand Complication won in the category “Complicated Watches”. The award was handed over on 14 February 2014. The “Orologio dell'Anno” (“Watch of the Year”) prize is the only Italian prize for watchmaking.
