On the occasion of the 66th Cannes International Film Festival, which began on May 15th and will end this Sunday, stars are thronging the red carpet to pay tribute to the 7th art.
While the race for the famous Palme d’Or which rewards the best film of the year is the prize most coveted by directors, the race for “who will be the most beautiful woman to glide up the famous red-carpeted staircase” involves a bevy of actresses, jewellers and fashion designers. While the sun was a no-show at the party this year, diamonds nonetheless sparkled as usual in the spotlights.
Chopard, the historical partner of the Festival for which Caroline Scheufele redesigned the Palme in 1998, enables certain celebrities to choose jewellery to set the perfect finishing touch to their outfits.
Among them was Marion Cotillard who came to Cannes to promote the film Blood Ties directed by her partner Guillaume Canet and made a noteworthy appearance in her delightfully 1970s dress, while fellow actresses Bing Bing and Eva Longoria also wore their Chopard jewellery with exquisite elegance.
