Since I was a kid I have always had two loves: nature and art. My love for nature translated in small walks in the wood, lying on the lawn at my parents’ house and looking at the sky, or simply smelling the trees and the flowers on my way to school. My love for art started as an evolution of the first; as a kid a I loved to observe nature, especially animals and enjoyed giving bringing them to life on paper with pencils and colors. This brought to me an unspeakable joy.
I wanted to find a way to combine the two, to run away to secluded places, enjoy nature and draw it for hours. One day a good friend of mine showed me a video on YouTube of a group of people riding mountain bikes in beautiful places. I saw that as the perfect means of transportation to take me to places I had never been before, embrace nature all around and find the perfect spot to draw. At the beginning I would venture to places close to my house, but as I trained more with my bike I started reaching farther destinations.
Through the years, as I master my biking skills, my drawing technique and interest evolve too. Though still fascinated by nature, today I’m enjoying free hand technical drawing. I like to recreate by hand watch mechanisms, I like to dissect the insides of these beautiful machines and give them a personal twist. It will take me some time, but I am working on designing a watch that keeps tracks of bisestile years, something that I have always dreamt of doing.
