September sharpens the focus of the film world again this year on Zurich, Switzerland.
For ten days beginning September 20, 2012, fans and friends of the cinema will gather in the heart of Zurich to take in new documentary and feature film. This year, high end German watch manufacturer Glashütte Original extends its support for the arts and culture to include the Zurich Film Festival: a three-year partnership agreement begins with the 2012 edition.
Glashütte Original's presence in Zurich represents a further enhancement of its comprehensive and profound commitment to the support of the arts and cultural events.
The German watchmaker has been a partner since 2011, for example, of the Berlin International Film Festival, where for the first time this year it presented the „Made in Germany“ fellowship, dedicated to emerging film directors.
The partnership with the Zurich Film Festival enhances Glashütte Original's existing commitments in the area of cultural sponsorship: the art of making films and the art of making watches are perfectly complementary.
Just as the interplay of traditional craftsmanship and advanced technology gives a mechanical watch movement its indispensable precision, so too, in the art of making films, do disparate crafts, sophisticated technology and perfect timing contribute to the making of a masterpiece.
