In Berlin, Chinese percussionist Ni Fan was received the Prix Montblanc 2013, an prize that awards each year a talented young soloists.

Musician Ni Fan, is already recognized at an international level through other music competitions and appearances. Above all, it is her outstanding performance skills and her exceptional musicality that impressed a distinguished panel of leading performers and music experts.

 
Ni Fan played two solo pieces, followed in the second half by a performance by the Philharmonia of the Nations (an orchestra supported by Montblanc since its creation in 1995) under the musical directorship of Prof Justus Frantz.

The Prix Montblanc jury comprising of Prof Justus Frantz, Prof Li Biao and Prof Jürgen Christ joined by German anchorman and classical music enthusiast Thomas Gottschalk, actress Andie MacDowell, a special friend of the maison and dedicated supporter of the arts as well Mr Lutz Bethge, Vice Chairman Montblanc Cultural Foundation, awarded Ni Fan with the prize.
 
She received €10,000 along with the Montblanc Donation Pen Johannes Brahms, a special edition fountain pen created to underscore Montblanc and the great composers' shared commitment to promoting the arts through the support of generations of budding young artists. A part of the sales of the Montblanc Donation Pen Johannes Brahms Edition, is donated by Montblanc in order to promote and encourage new cultural and artistic projects worldwide.
