This year, Breguet is celebrating the invention of the tourbillon by unveiling to the public their entire collection of Grandes Complications in the lines Tradition, Classique, Marine and Héritage.
Before the arrival of the travelling exhibition “Breguet, the innovator. Inventor of the Tourbillon” in France, the timepieces can be seen at Breguet boutique in Cannes, which has been decorated specially for the occasion.
Opening hours: Monday to Saturday, from 10:30am to 1pm and from 3pm to 7:30pm, and on Sunday July 14, 21 and 28, 2013, and August 4, 11 and 18, 2013, from 11:30am to 1pm and from 3pm to 6:30pm.

The beginning of the 19th century marks a turning point in the history of watchmaking, coinciding with the birth of one of the most brilliant inventions: the tourbillon. The tourbillon the results of the researches done by an extraordinary watchmaker, Abraham-Louis Breguet. On June 26, 1801, he was awarded a patent from the French Minister of the Interior for his new type of regulator, which neutralizes the effects of gravity providing incredible precision in mechanical timepieces.
On June 26, 2013, or 212 years after this discovery, Breguet paid tribute to its founder on the occasion of a commemorative day in the United States. The Breguet boutiques in New York, Bal Harbour and Las Vegas simultaneously welcomed guests for viewing the brand’s expansive collection of tourbillon timepieces.
At the same time as this anniversary, the travelling exhibition “Breguet, the innovator. Inventor of the Tourbillon” is touring internationally with as next stops in the United States the Breguet boutique in Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills, from October 3 to October 19, 2013, the Tourbillon boutique in Chicago from October 24 to October 29, and the Breguet boutique on Fifth Avenue, New York, from November 7 to November 17, 2013.
