Geneva Watch Days 2022 may be over, but we're not done talking about last week's news!

Last week was packed with news and activities, thanks to the summertime horological extravaganza that was Geneva Watch Days 2022. If you've been following our online coverage of events, you'll be well up to date with all the latest releases and announcements — and if not, you can always re-watch our daily recaps on our YouTube channel, anchored by Jordy Bellido and featuring the entire WorldTempus team (and some special guests). That said, we know that even the most ardent viewers might miss a few things here and there, so we wanted to remind you of something big that may somehow have escaped your notice… the pre-selected watches for the 2022 edition of the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG)!

With an increase by one category from last year — 15 instead of 14, thanks to the new Mechanical Clock category — the most prestigious awards ceremony in the watch world is growing in scope as well as reputation. You can see the full list of shortlisted participants here, as well as our interview with Raymond Loretan, Chairman of the GPHG. Of course, the focus is squarely on Loretan and his insights he's giving us on this year's edition of the awards, but do keep an eye out for a surprise appearance from Geneva's most famous landmark (or should we say lakemark)!

Over the next few weeks, we'll be bringing you more and more content about the GPHG, from the dates and venues of the world tour, in-depth explanations of the competing watches, culminating with the grand evening itself, where the awards are handed out to the deserving winners.

Let us know in the comments if there's anything you want us to explore regarding the participating watches of the 2022 GPHG. The biggest watchmaking event of the summer may be over, but it's clear that there's more excitement in store this autumn and winter. After all, WorldTempus is committed to our dear readers — that's you, our WorldTempus family! — in being the one comprehensive reference for all things related to horology.
