Phillips proudly announces a significant shift in venue for its esteemed Watch and Jewels auctions in Geneva as it redefines the auction experience. After nearly a decade of holding sales at La Réserve Genève Hotel, Phillips embraces a growing auction calendar and expanding audience by relocating to the prestigious Hotel President Geneva this May.
This landmark move signifies a moment of growth and evolution for Phillips' Watch and Jewels categories. The decision to transition to the illustrious Hotel President Geneva comes amidst a period of expansion and increasing convergence between watch and jewellery collectors.
Celebrating its tenth year of watch auctions in Geneva, Phillips reflects on a decade of remarkable achievements. Since its inaugural auction in May 2015, Phillips Watches has garnered an unparalleled market-leading total of $1.3 billion in global watch auctions, underscoring its enduring impact on the industry.
Following the resounding success of Phillips’ inaugural The Geneva Jewels Auction: ONE in November 2023, this move signifies an exciting chapter of expansion for the Jewels category.
Phillips will unveil an awe-inspiring 500 square meters of daylight-flooded exhibition space on the pool terrace of Hotel President Geneva, featuring a glass structure with stunning views of Lake Geneva. This captivating venue will host the full auction previews from 8 to 13 May, with The Geneva Watch Auction: XIX taking place on 11 and 12 May, followed by The Geneva Jewels Auction: Two on 13 May. The auctions themselves will take place in the grandeur of the Wilson Room, spanning approximately 1000 square meters.
Edward Dolman, Executive Chairman and CEO, said, “As we embark on this new chapter at the esteemed Hotel President Geneva, we are filled with excitement and anticipation. This move represents a pivotal moment in Phillips’ journey, allowing us to continue our legacy of excellence and innovation in the world of watches and jewels. I remember attending Phillips’ first Watch auction in May 2015, and to have realised $1.3 billion in global Watch auction sales since that moment is astounding. Luxury purchases are now the entry point for many new clients, and this is an important move as we continue to expand our watches and jewellery offerings. We look forward to welcoming our community of clients and collectors to this wonderful new space, where together, we will create unforgettable auction experiences. We also extend our gratitude to La Réserve Genève Hotel for nearly a decade of cherished partnership and extraordinary moments.”
