A new global celebration dedicated to the art, heritage, and innovation of watchmaking. This new cultural platform is open to everyone. Take this opportunity to celebrate watchmaking on 10/10, using the hashtag #worldwatchday!
From Shanghai to Geneva, and New York in between, preparations are already in full swing for a 24-hour sequence of events. The hashtag #worldwatchday will be the rallying signal of the day.
The goal is to highlight the cultural, historical, and social value of watchmaking: a craft that is both ancient and ultra-contemporary!
An expanding network of partners
In recent weeks, the organizing association has welcomed a new wave of international partners: specialized media, collectors’ clubs, trade shows, watchmaking schools, cultural institutions, and independent voices. This constantly expanding ecosystem illustrates the growing appeal of the event as a true collective initiative.
They join the founding institutions — the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie, the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, the Watch Library Foundation, the Horopedia Foundation, the Horological Society of New York, Arc Horloger, Hantang Culture, Le Figaro, and Europa Star — who played a decisive role in launching the initiative.
Experiences around the world
Although the digital experience will be highlighted for this first edition through the hashtag #worldwatchday, the event will not be exclusively online: several partners have also taken the initiative to organize physical events on 10/10.
You can find them all on the website: World Watch Day | World Watch Day Events Around the Globe
How to participate?
You don’t need to be an “official” partner to join World Watch Day: on 10/10, join the movement by posting your own original content on social media, and don’t forget to include the hashtag #worldwatchday—this could be your best wristshot, a video that inspired you, an anecdote about watchmaking… and/or gather with your friends and fellow enthusiasts to share a moment together.
Because that’s the spirit of World Watch Day: no barriers, open to everyone… for 24 hours!
