TAG Heuer celebrates the 14th edition of the Monaco Historic Grand Prix

TAG Heuer, the renowned Swiss luxury watchmaker proudly returns for the 14th edition of the Monaco Historic Grand Prix, solidifying its connection of over a century to motorsport dating back to 1911. As a longstanding partner of the Automobile Club of Monaco (ACM), TAG Heuer is honored to continue its tradition of supporting one of the most prestigious events in the classic car racing calendar.

The Monaco Historic Grand Prix weekend is one of the highlights of the classic car racing calendar, and its passionate community of owners, drivers and spectators relish the spectacle of historic Grand Prix racing and the warm spirit around the legendary circuit. For each edition, more than 200 cars representing 50 different carmakers and 21 countries enter in competition. Selected for their historic value and degree of originality, they compete in eight series spanning the periods from the 1930s to the 1980s on a majestic stage, the famous circuit of the Principality.

TAG Heuer's illustrious history is not only linked to the Principality but is also intertwined with the drivers and motorsport legends, to the likes of Mike Hailwood, Jochen Rindt, Mario Andretti, Niki Lauda, and Clay Regazzoni to name just a few, who all proudly wore TAG Heuer watches on and off the racetrack.

This enduring connection extends beyond individual drivers, with TAG Heuer's official collaborations with Ferrari (1971-1979) and Formula One (1992-2004) serving as pivotal milestones in the brand's motorsport heritage. The brand’s timekeeping equipment was even used by significant racing teams in the 1970s, further cementing TAG Heuer’s indispensable role in motorsport history.

This rich heritage comes full circle as ROFGO Racing, a valued racing partner, enters several cars this year, including one adorned in Gulf colors, famously used in previous editions of the TAG Heuer Monaco.

The legacy continues to mark history as in 2024, Adrian Newey, Red Bull Racing's esteemed technical director and TAG Heuer partner, will race a Lotus 49B, symbolizing the seamless integration of TAG Heuer's current partnerships with its rich heritage.

"Our partnership with the Automobile Club of Monaco underscores TAG Heuer's deep-rooted connection to the world of motorsport," said Julien Tornare, TAG Heuer’s CEO. "As the official sponsor, watch, and timekeeper of the Monaco Historic Grand Prix, we are thrilled to be here in 2024, showing our passion for the universe, and we are excited to see the races take place."

The Monaco Historic Grand Prix weekend is set to do nothing less but to captivate enthusiasts with its unique display of vintage Formula One cars, spanning decades of motorsport history. This year's event holds even greater special significance as it commemorates the 30th anniversary of the passing of legendary driver Ayrton Senna, an icon whose legacy continues to inspire millions around the world.

In tribute to Senna's extraordinary career, the Automobile Club of Monaco and the Senna Foundation will organize a unique parade featuring six to eight cars either driven or owned by the Brazilian racing legend. From his early days in karting to his unforgettable moments in Formula One, the parade will showcase the remarkable journey of Ayrton Senna, accompanied by the presence of Bianca Senna and the Senna family.

Many of TAG Heuer’s friends of the brand will be present for this adrenaline-charged weekend, including Hollywood actor, racing enthusiast and TAG Heuer ambassador, Patrick Dempsey who will participate in the opening of TAG Heuer's new boutique in Monaco, adding to the excitement of this prestigious event.

As the Monaco Historic Grand Prix unfolds, TAG Heuer eagerly anticipates welcoming guests to Monaco for a weekend filled with excitement, nostalgia, and unforgettable moments, as the watchmaker continues to celebrate the timeless allure of classic car racing and its legacy of motorsport greatness.
