Press release
Pierre Jacques, the co-editor of the watch making magazine GMT, takes the reins of the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix as director of the organizing committee, president of which is Marco Cattaneo. Jean-Claude Pittard remains with the organization as a counsellor. In his new role, Pierre Jacques will supervise the organization of the event and also be its official ambassador. Carine Maillard will once again assume responsibility for the administrative tasks as well as the event organization.
Every year, the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix rewards the most exceptional timepieces in ten different categories as well as awarding the very prestigious Grand Prize of “L'Aiguille d'Or” (“Golden Hand”). The event takes place on November 14th in the Grand Théâtre de Genève, presided by the City and Canton of Geneva. The 11 people jury is completely independent, “going conform with the rules of the Grand Prix, anyone having a direct connection with the organizing committee, the Edipresse Group and/or its main shareholder must not become member of the jury, whose composition will therefore be published on the website Worldtempus.com”, points out Pierre Jacques, who, as a result of this, will not participate in any decision taken by the jury.

Biography
Born in Brussels on December 8th, 1967, Pierre Jacques took up studies in “International relationship management”. His entrepreneurial spirit showed early on in his university years, when he founded the “Agenda de l'étudiant” in 1993, before he created a network of private postings. In the year 2000 he founded the tri-monthly magazine GMT, together with Brice Lechevallier. Five year later, the city of Geneva made him responsible for the “Cowparade”, a open-air exhibiton of 80 real-size cows, each decorated by an artist.
