Atelier Loiseau announces the death of Dominique Loiseau, co-founder of the brand.
Dominique was a special person, a visionary who had the genius of creating and crafting masterpieces and, at the same time, to be himself a special 'mechanism ' of the beautiful circle of watchmakers. He was considered to be one of the most active designers in contemporary Haute Horlogerie. A master craftsman and restorer of mechanisms and automata, as well as being a lecturer at the Watchmaking Museum in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Dominique Loiseau produces exceptional timepieces for leading names in watchmaking and private collectors alike.
Dominique Loiseau co-founded the brand Atelier Loiseau. Its first timepiece - the 1f4 - was launched in Baselworld 2011.
In addition, Loiseau was brought in by the Sowind Group (Girard-Perregaux and JeanRichard) during the last quarter of 2011 in order to strengthen the brand's Research and Development staff. The management and employees of Girard-Perregaux and Kering wish to express their deep sorrow at the news of the sudden death of legendary watchmaker and philosopher of time, Dominique Loiseau.
