Baselworld – Carl F. Bucherer extends its ranges on both technical and aesthetic levels.

Once again at Baselworld 2013, Carl F. Bucherer is demonstrating the enduring strength of its collections. This year is particularly important for the brand  that celebrates its 125th anniversary and has inaugurated a Carl F. Bucherer area in the recently opened Bucherer boutique in Paris.”

Around its key Manero and Alacria lines, the brand is steadily and patiently developing the functions of its Manufacture movement, the CFB A1000.

The first of these collections, the Manero, is thus now enriched with a power-reserve model - movements  CFB A1011 - soberly named the Manero PowerReserve.

This masculine line already featured a number of variations on the in-house calibre and its famous peripheral oscillating weight that handles automatic winding. It notably included a chronograph, a perpetual calendar, a large date, moon phases and even a retrograde calendar. The power reserve thus joins this long list of Fine Watchmaking complications, displayed on a dedicated subdial at 3 o’clock. The latter thereby indicates that the model’s autonomy in optimal operating model, as well as its ‘reserve’, meaning the residual energy of its barrel when it is virtually entirely wound down and that this state might be liable to affect the watch’s isochronism.

In parallel, Carl F. Bucherer has kept two other complications: the large date and the day of the week, while a small seconds display at 6 o’clock sets the finishing touch, lending a timeless aura to a timepiece representing an ideal blend of traditional and modern elements.

Two new Alacria models

The brand’s feminine audience is being catered to through another approach: rather than playing on the technical nature of its movement, the Alacria Diva Bamboo focuses on the perfection of its gemsetting. 83 orange and black baguette-cut recreate the slender shape of a bamboo shoot on its white gold dial. This model with its unique colour embodies the Bucherer group’s historical expertise in the realm of High Jewellery. Complementing its sparkling face, the case is set with 90 orange and black baguette-cut sapphires and 239 round black sapphires, while the crown is adorned with a single orange sapphire.

Another variation of the Alacria is being introduced: the TwoTone, a larger version of the previous Mini TwoTone model. As its name implies, it displays two colours combined on its bracelet and case middle: pink gold and steel. Divided into three vertical stripes, two narrow and light-coloured and the other one broad and dark, the dial pursues this twin-coloured theme.

The Diva Bamboo and the TwoTone thus round out the Alacria collection, the only Carl F. Bucherer watch collection exclusively dedicated to women. This collection is enjoying considerable success around the world thanks to its design and to its comfortable bracelet.
