Leroy is a firm with centuries' worth of history. In 1785, (Basile)-Charles Le Roy, “Master Watchmaker”, moved into the Palais Royal with his father. This was to be the firm's address for over one hundred years.

In the middle of the XIXth c., the Firm was at the dawn of its golden years, notable in particular for the “Leroy 01” watch, which was to remain the absolute benchmark in terms of grand complication watchmaking until 1989. Pursuing the same philosophy of high precision, the Besançon workshops produced a very large quantity of chronometers intended first and foremost for the navies of Europe. In 2004 the Firm was bought out by Miguel Rodriguez, founder and owner of the watchmaking group Festina-Lotus S.A.
