Profile of Claude Meylan's owner and CEO.

The eponymous brand specialising in skeleton watches, which was created in 1988 by Claude Meylan, has belonged to Philippe Belais since 2010. The owner and CEO made the decision after 25 years spent in the marketing and distribution of luxury brands. He began his career as Export Director for Pequignet watches. At the beginning of the 1990s he joined Alfred Dunhill, where he spent three years as Sales Director for southern Europe, then General Manager, Jewellery, with responsibility for watches, men’s jewellery, pens and lighters.
In 2000 Philippe Belais left London and moved to Geneva, where he took over as manager of the Van Cleef & Arpels watch division, and in 2005 he became President and CEO of Bertolucci watches. In March 2010 he met the directors of Claude Meylan and they immediately hit it off. Philippe Belais took the reins of the business in November of that year.
