Profiles of Emile Chouriet's founder and CEO.

The Emile Chouriet brand is named after a watchmaker who set himself up in Geneva at the end of the 17th century. It was created in 1997 by a descendent of François Dagobert Depéry, who supplied Emile Chouriet with watch parts. Jean Depéry, born in 1949, studied microengineering at Neuchâtel University, specialising in micro-electronics and quartz watch construction. In 1972 he joined the R&D department of a movement manufacturer, which was later bought by Swatch Group, and in 1985 he launched Micromag.
Jean Depéry had nevertheless always been fascinated by mechanical watchmaking, a passion he was finally able to indulge with the founding of Emile Chouriet. Since the end of 2013 he has been assisted by CEO Patrick Jaton, former director of the Timelab foundation, which is responsible for awarding the Poinçon de Genève.
