A profile of Sylvain Dolla, CEO of Hamilton

After graduating with a Master’s degree from the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce in Toulouse, France, Sylvain Dolla started his career in the telecommunications industry, first with French company Alcatel as a manager for the Middle East and North Africa regions and as Country Manager for the UK & Ireland. After four years at Alcatel, he moved to US Lithium Energetics / ENREV Corp. where, as Director, Europe, he managed the US company’s business in Europe, notably developing relations with Europe’s main mobile phone operators.

His entry into the world of watchmaking came with a move to Swatch, as Head of High Tech and Access. In a relatively short period, Mr Dolla handled the launch of innovative new projects and technologies such as the Swatch Paparazzi, in partnership with Microsoft and the Swatch Ski Data Access System, which allowed Swatch wearers to use their timepiece as a ski pass.

After just one year at the Swatch Group, Sylvain Dolla joined Hamilton as Head of International Sales, taking on responsibility for 70 countries and opening up significant new markets such as China, Korea, the UK and Russia. In January 2011 he took the position of CEO at Hamilton, where he has been managing the brand’s successful development for the past five years.
