Outlook 2017 Stephen Forsey, Greubel Forsey

Stephen Forsey looks back on a year that was “not bad” and a promising SIHH 2017 for his brand.

“To be honest, 2016 has not been a bad year for Greubel Forsey. We have always worked on our fundamentals and our own vision, so we were never really able to take advantage of the strong growth markets because we are limited by how many pieces we can make with our hand finishing. There are changes around the world but we have good demand for our watches and as we approach the end of the day I can say we have fulfilled the orders we had this year.”

“We are curious about how things will evolve. For 2017 we cannot take the risk of slowing down our development activity and creativity because this is our lifeline. We have some exciting new developments to present in 2017.”

“SIHH for us is already a bit like a military operation because the organization of the exhibition means that we can pack a huge amount into five days. But it also makes it a marathon run. With two of the bigger brands back and more independent brands I think there is some fantastic potential there.”
