Arceau – Cheval Natté

Hermès weaves time, thread by thread. With the Arceau Cheval Natté watch, silk composes a horse bursting with colour and geometrical patterns.

Elegant simplicity, equestrian motifs, a bold exploration of artistic crafts: since its creation in 1978 by Henri d’Origny, the Arceau watch has epitomised the Hermès watchmaking style signature. A special realm where the House reveals the full range of its exceptional skills in step with the seasons.

Originally conceptualised for home accessories, designer Tong Ren’s motif finds a new setting at the heart of the Arceau Cheval Natté watch. The skilfully controlled dial space features a horse’s head featuring geometric lines woven to form a playfully graphic silhouette.

Nearly 400 carefully selected silk threads are individually laid in a precise direction to create a sense of movement and add a relief effect to the composition. Thread by thread, silk becomes a watchmaking material, transforming the dial into a miniature fabric design where light reveals the depth of the textures and the richness of the colours.

The watch is available in two interpretations: a luminous version inspired by the vivid hues of the original design; along with a more intense variation in black, red and brown tones. These two creations come to life on dials where diamonds interact with the silk, highlighted by accurate champlevé engraving.

The 38 mm diamond-set rose gold case houses the Manufacture Hermès H1912 self-winding movement, whose finishes and “sprinkling of Hs” pattern are visible through the sapphire crystal case-back. An alligator strap crafted in the Hermès workshops sets the perfect final touch to the Arceau Cheval Natté watch, issued in a 24-piece limited series of each version.
