More generally, amphibians go through a metamorphosis from aquatic larvae to terrestrial adults. But this path is reversible, and amphibians sometimes find themselves in the water even during their adult life. Independent, amphibians learn from very early age to adapt to any situation, enabling them to navigate between two distinct worlds.
We are human, we all lived in la iquid for 9 months before breathing air. In the course of our lives, we sometimes go back into the water, but always come out again. In short, we're all amphibians.
Designed by RALF TECH and customized by Jeff Scott of DEEPSEAMGZN, the new "Amphibian" is the story of our life... And it is also the name of the new model in THE BEAST family, a true piece of French technology and know-how.
But the story does not end here ! The dial of this new BEAST features the inscription "AMPHIBIAN" accompanied by a logo designed especially for this series : an octopus holding a trident.
The octopus, although scientifically a mollusk and not an amphibian, generally evolves at up to 100 meters in the depths our seas. But, incredibly intelligent, it is also capable of rare incursions out of the water. Like amphibians at birth. Clutching the trident between its tentacles, symbol of Neptune and Poseidon, mythical masters of the waters, it reminds us of the origins, the DNA, of RALF TECH.
This new series is in the same lines as the codes of the other Electric models. One of the model's most remarkable performances is how the thickness of THE BEAST has been kept to 17mm, a record given the pressure resistance offered. Ever since its conception until its market launch, everything has been thought out to ensure that THE BEAST, with its reasonable dimensions (47.7mm diameter) given its aptitudes, is suitable for everyday use by professional divers and connoisseurs of fine watchmaking.
The watch also features the professional "Diamond Shape" rotating bezel. Unidirectional and graduated over 60 minutes, it rotates in 120 clicks, providing exceptionally accurate timekeeping. This bezel is fitted with a matt ceramic insert, making it insensitive to scratches and rough treatment sometimes encountered in real-life underwater working conditions. Last, its shape, designed in cooperation with our professional divers, ensures a perfect grip in all conditions of use. This makes it safer for divers to read dive and decompression times with precision.
Just like the other versions, the new THE BEAST Electric "AMPHIBIAN" is equiped with a "case back" with an integral "encapsulation" system. This system, inaugurated in 2019 on the WRX, is perfectly integrated into the back of THE BEAST. This innovation seals the back of the watch to the case, guaranteeing optimum water-resistance. This system also avoidses the need for a helium valve for saturation dives, which weakens the case.
THE BEAST Electric "AMPHIBIAN" is of course equipped with the latest RALF TECH electric movement.
Developed in Switzerland for our company, this unique movement operates on a micro-hybridization system. It combines precision, reliability and energy savings. The RTE001 movement reduces the number of moving parts and simplifies quartz power supply as much as possible.
It can run for up to 100,000 hours, which is almost 12 years, whereas most movements offer a power reserve of 40 hours for automatics and around 2 years for traditional quartz.
Tested water-resistant to over 3,000 meters, this new model reinforces RALF TECH's position in the race for extreme depths, since, as a reminder, THE BEAST is one of the 3 deepest-water watches in the world.
Assembled in France, the new THE BEAST Electric "AMPHIBIAN" should logically become the benchmark in "Tool Watches" for adventure professionals, whether they are in the military or civilians. Its performances and design should also appeal to enthusiasts of alternative watchmaking.
