There are watches that are "inspired by" and those whose DNA is resolutely embedded in their legends. Such is the case with the models by Emeric Paraud and Clément Etienvre: the two motorsport professionals who created Lorige. The latter's cases are based on authentic brakes from legendary racing cars with the AS-01 Tourbillon using the original brake pads from the McLaren MP4/8 driven by Ayrton Senna in 1993. The two partners worked for three years to achieve the perfect carbon, using patented injection technology.
As Lorige obtained the champion's total set of eight brake pads, the brand will therefore only be able to produce just eight cases for eight watches. The movement is the work of another legendary duo, Dominique Renaud and Pierre Favre. Their LOR-TC01 caliber is based on a central flying tourbillon with a titanium cage, chamfered wheels and multiple hidden F1 codes. These include an engraving of Senna's three world championship titles on the tourbillon and the 93 hours (standing for 1993) of power reserve. The hours and minutes are powered by separate barrels, designed to resemble vintage Speedline wheels. A radical, rare, uncompromising timepiece of the highest order, just like Senna himself.
