When IWC Schaffhausen decides to beef up its Pilot line, it's best to fasten your seatbelts. Once again, the Schaffhausen-based Manufacture has definitely not disappointed collectors, presenting a case and bracelet made of Ceratanium® (a titanium alloy), a black ceramic bezel, a chronograph and a digital perpetual calendar by which the month is indicated by its number rather than in full. IWC Schaffhausen has mastered this type of display since 1880 but only occasionally uses it with its famous Pallweber pocket watches.
The result is a sportier look, with the numerical value taking center-stage and the racing spirit reinforced by an unusual black and gold color scheme, enhanced by high-performance materials. On the dial side, the timepiece stands out with its semi-open counters. This is a unique design choice that adds depth without compromising legibility. In addi-tion, IWC Schaffhausen has removed the moon phase - a customary feature on perpetual calendars - as it makes no sense in a model designed to break records. We are also grateful to the Manufacture for developing a perpetual calendar that is 100% crown adjustable !
