The colouring of the new Serenade Luna gives the effect of silk and velvet. The dark violet tone is a luxurious blend of red and blue, reminiscent of the Gynura aurantiaca plant, better known as the velvet plant. Its appearance is at once calming and spiritual, inspirational and mysterious. This dichotomy is a perfect fit for the Serenade Luna, which offers exceptional versatility and balance. With feminine design and mechanical finesse, it enhances every outfit, whether an evening gown, business attire or casual clothing. The new version in “purple velvet” creates powerful accents that emphasise the individual character of its wearer.
A Piece of Luxury Jewellery
Enveloped in a stainless steel case measuring 32.5 mm in diameter, the Serenade Luna beguiles with its graceful shapes. With its sparkling bezel, the watch has all the charm of a jewellery piece. 48 brilliant-cut diamonds frame a violet-coloured dial, carefully crafted in Glashütte Original’s own dial manufactory. A delicate sunray decoration and translucent lacquer bring a visual depth that is enhanced by the vivid reflections of the diamond indexes. The moon phase display that is harmoniously incorporated at 6 o'clock perfectly captures the poetic nature of the art of watchmaking. White natural mother-of-pearl and dark Tahitian mother-of-pearl with delicately imprinted stars create a clear yet elegant portrayal of the crescent moon and the night sky. The timepiece is finished with a Louisiana alligator leather strap that complements the dial colour. Its glossy, velvety finish with a subtle dégradé effect masterfully unites the bold violet with the natural surface texture.
A Mechanical Artwork
At the beating heart of every model in the Serenade Luna series lies a celebration of mechanical prowess. The automatic calibre 35 with integrated moon phase is meticulously handcrafted inside the Glashütte Original ateliers and meets the manufactory´s highest technical demands. For instance, the movement features a convenient running time of 60 hours while oscillating at a frequency of 4 Hz. A silicon balance spring makes the watch resistant to temperature fluctuations and magnetic fields. Meanwhile, its sapphire crystal case back allows for the full wonder of the movement and its finishing to be seen: The stripe finish on the Glashütte three-quarter plate, the bevelled edges, the sunburst finish on the reduction wheel, the perlage on the oscillation weight’s track and the polished and blued screws. The exquisite shell decoration on the golden rotor plate is reminiscent of a theatre’s stage curtain, alluding to the next major performance and perfectly capturing the glamorous essence of the Serenade Luna.
